Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced Naval Architect to join our engineering team in Kochi, India. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in ship design and be proficient in stability calculations for ships / offshore structures. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and efficient designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ship Design

• Lead the design and development of various types of ships and offshore structures.
• Create and review detailed design drawings and specifications.
• Ensure designs meet client requirements and industry standards.

Naval Architectural Calculations

• Perform stability calculations for ships and offshore structures.
• Conduct hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analyses.
• Perform scantling calculations for the hull structure.
• Estimate hull resistance and size the propulsion package
• Ensure compliance with requirements of classification societies and regulatory bodies.

Project Collaboration

• Work closely with other engineers, designers, and project managers to develop integrated design solutions.
• Provide technical support during the construction and installation phases of projects.
• Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and client consultations.

Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including calculations, analysis reports, and design specifications.
• Present findings and recommendations to internal teams and external clients.
• Maintain accurate records of design changes, analysis results, and project progress.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in naval architecture, ship design, and stability analysis.
• Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance design processes and outcomes.
• Participate in professional development activities and training programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in naval architecture with a focus on ship design.
• Proficiency in stability analysis software (e.g., GHS, Auto HYDRO, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of classification society rules and regulatory requirements (e.g., ABS, DNV, LR, etc.).
• Experience with CAD software and ship design tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics soft will be added advantage

Working Conditions

• Office environment in Kochi, with occasional travel to shipyards, offshore platforms, or client sites as required.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
